How does Waterie decide how much water I should drink each day?

Your goal is personalized based on your body weight, activity level, wake and sleep times, and — if you grant location access — the weather where you live. Premium users can enable weather-based adjustments that nudge the goal up or down (up to ±25%) when the temperature deviates meaningfully from your 14-day baseline. You can override the goal manually at any time from Settings → Hydration.

Is Waterie really free?

Yes. Water tracking, dozens of drink types, personalized goals, iOS widgets, achievements, cosmetics, cloud sync, calendar heatmap history, configurable reminders, custom containers, and AI camera detection (7 scans per week) are all free. Premium unlocks unlimited AI camera, unlimited custom drink types, advanced analytics, weather-based goal adjustments, premium cosmetics, and smart adaptive reminders, starting at $4.99 per week with free trials on the monthly and annual plans.

How do I add a widget to my home or lock screen?

Long-press your home screen or lock screen, tap the plus icon, search for "Waterie," then pick a size. There are six widgets to choose from: small, medium, and large for the home screen, and compact circular, rectangular, and inline widgets for the lock screen. Tapping a widget deep-links you straight into the app so you can log water instantly with correctly scoped sign-in.

I have a referral code — where do I enter it?

On the Welcome screen during onboarding, tap "Have a referral code?" and enter the code. If the code is valid, you'll see confirmation right away and the reward cosmetic — by default a pair of Cool Shades — appears on the Personalize step as a free unlock. Codes captured from a shared link or clipboard apply automatically. Only one referral code can be attached per account, and attribution locks in once onboarding completes.

How do premium free trials work?

The monthly plan includes a 3-day free trial and the annual plan includes a 1-week free trial. Trials start the moment you tap Start Trial and can be cancelled from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions before the trial ends to avoid charges. The weekly plan does not have a trial.

How do I cancel my premium subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancel from iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Waterie → Cancel. You keep premium access until the end of your current billing period. Your tracking data, achievements, and cosmetics remain intact when you return to the free tier.

How do I delete my account?

Open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm. This removes your Clerk sign-in, all your water logs, achievements, cosmetics, and any referral attribution from our servers. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you want to keep your data but step away, just stop using the app — we will not retain data beyond what's needed to keep your account working.

Is my hydration data private?

Yes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Anonymous analytics help us improve the app, and you can review the full privacy practices in our Privacy Policy. Health data stays with you.

When is Waterie coming to Android?

An Android build is in active development. We are matching the iOS feature set — tracking, widgets, Rive mascot, achievements, and cosmetics — before we ship to Google Play. Follow us or email us to be notified when the Android beta opens.

I think I found a bug or want to request a feature — how do I reach you?

Email [email protected] with as much detail as you can: what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, device model, and iOS version. Screenshots or screen recordings help a lot. Feature requests are read and prioritized against the roadmap.
